Good man yourself! Craig Charles for the Doctor one day? Could be The Nerdocolypse.

    Review Doctor Who Monsters

Just curious: do the nay-sayers simple not watch when a dalek episode/ story-line comes along (as they always will, and rightly so)? Or do such fair-weather-fans watch, but say tut-tut, crush their lager cans / clutch their pearls/ or sigh morosely like my dog when I took the fruit knife to...

    Review Modern Who Companions

@Gavin Thanks for your detailed reply! I think we're simply at cross-purposes. I'm talking about our later views of the characters I'm talking about. Rory and Amy did an unspecified amount of going home between Tardis jaunts to the extent that they appeared to be aging excessively to...

    Controversial Politics

@mustang2006 That's right - sorry it took me a while to figure out what IDK meant. - the world's first andlongest lasting National Health Service: we all pay for it through taxes and it's free to all citizens at the point of use. Of course it's under strain since successive Tory governments...

Review King Arthur: Legend of the Sword (2017)

Just because Vinnie Jones kind of worked in Lock, Stock, doesn't mean he should shove a superannuated ball-kicker in everything he makes! Oh, for the box set fairy to bring me Arthur of the Britons by overnight delivery...

Fun Your Top 5 Horror Movies

Any takers for the very cheap remake - the 111 days (so far) of Trump? Actually haven't tried the film - must've read about half the book before deciding it wasn't going to get any more uplifting...

And now I'm in the mood for a Flash + Highlander double bill: but which to watch first?

    Review The Limehouse Golem (2016)

Promising... looks like we're in Ripper Street territory. It's an Ayckroyd I haven't read yet, but I do like his stuff - Hawksmoor, Chatterton and Dr Dee were all great fun. HIs biography of Shakespeare, although he doesn't think it's fiction, is great fun and a feat of over-stretched imagination.

    Review Blade Runner 2049 (2017)

Funny, that now-popular option had never occurred to me despite many viewings, till the most recent cut (I think) made it a Thing... I hope the new one has a Properly Noir Voiceover.

    Controversial Politics

I read that Spicey hid in the bushes and would only come out to answer questions under cover of darkness yesterday... They are lurking amongst us, pretending to be real people... (1) be afraid (2) bag copyright to title The Walking GOPS.

Review War of the Worlds (2019)

Excellent - and should lead very nicely into a sequel of Willy Russell's W.G.Grace's Last Case wherein Drs Grace, Watson and Jekyll all get mixed up in the return of the Martians. One of the funniest books ever written NOT by Terry Pratchett.

    Review The Wicker Man (1973)

@Janine The Barefoot Some pretty nifty contributions the USA has given the world: Cocktails Peanut butter Joss Whedon Jim Steinman Actual people walking on the moon So thank you for all those and lots of other stuff I haven't remembered yet

    Review Modern Who Companions

Well, I'd add Rory and Amy to Martha, and Jack, and River and Mickey come to think of it. And Sarah Jane declined another invitation to re-join Team Tardis. Guess my list of voluntary departees is longer than that of clingers. Which, given Donna's involuntary retirement, leaves just Rose.

Totally agree, Elliott, for 1964 - and Magical Mystery Tour just three years later - different vibe, different music, totally different era. Gobsmacking film.

    Review Classic Doctor Who

Bunnies rule! Janine if you've never had a chance to see the wonderful An Adventure in Time and Space (2013) by the genius who is Mark Gatiss, written to celebrate the 50th about the origins of the actual show, you are in for a humungous treat when you track it down.

Really, I do - - but if blokes are going to exert their right to start threads objectifying women, I exert mine to poke fun where fun is needed.

    Fun The Trek Franchise!

@Doctor Omega Clearly the Enterprise sat-nav is on the blink and they've hit the galactic equivalent of driving right into the overflowing ford the guiding voice failed to announce, and they are now in the equivalent of the muddy field beyond with sewage drenching the dilithium crystals. Who to...
