.you either love or hate this I suppose
Not possible! You either love it or you love it. :emoji_joy: (that's laughing till you cry by the way) Anything else is simply unacceptable!
I almost married a lumberjack but was afraid I'd end up living on lupins for the rest of my life and after eating quite literally tons of them at uni, (they were cheap and easily available) I simply couldn't bear the thought of another bite! I do however, enjoy a wafer thin mint after dinner from time to time..... and yes, I have still managed to avoid capture for being an active member of the Granny Gangs.

So thanks for posting it Michael. This board isn't really a site or a board at all without The "real" MP's on it! :emoji_hugging:

:emoji_kiss: :emoji_dancer: And speaking as the only (that I know of) wacky Norwegian woman on the site, I would know! :emoji_information_desk_person:

WE ARE HERE!
Yes nobody expected us, The Spanish Inquisition, to reply to this thread.
Surprise is our main weapon, fear and surprise. Our two main weapons are fear and surprise and a fanatical devotion to the Pope, ...sorry, sorry, our three main weapons are..er can we start again!

@Janine The Barefoot

A Møøse once bit my sister... No realli! She was Karving her initials on the møøse with the sharpened end of an interspace tøøthbrush given her by Svenge - her brother-in-law - an Oslo dentist and star of many Norwegian møvies: "The Høt Hands of an Oslo Dentist", "Fillings of Passion", "The Huge Mølars of Horst Nordfink"...

Just saying ...

Just saying ...
You can say anything you want honey! I find the humor and the consideration behind all of it...

And for what it's worth, I spent years correcting papers by students who turned things in at the very last second possible and then wanted to know why I wouldn't give them full credit for something that was due weeks/months ago which they couldn't be bothered to turn in on time... and then couldn't understand why they couldn't get full credit for it!

If you need someone to commiserate with over the work a teacher has to go through.... I'm your girl! (OK, medium "old woman") :emoji_hugging:

I say we stand and them on a rope bridge, ask them a bunch of crazy questions and then launch them over the side when they can't answer them!..... "air speed velocity" my ass!

:emoji_kiss::emoji_dancer: and of course, the imperative dancing bunnies :emoji_dancers::emoji_dancers::emoji_dancers::emoji_dancers::emoji_dancers::emoji_dancers::emoji_dancers::emoji_dancers::emoji_dancers::emoji_dancers::emoji_dancers::emoji_dancers::emoji_dancers::emoji_dancers::emoji_dancers::emoji_dancers:

And I shall provide the coconuts and a huge axe with which to cleave them asunder....today (hell, this week) has been fuller of Sophocles' Antigone than is commensurate with frisky and fluffy mental health. I shall shortly take myself off to watch Daft TV till Bedtime - really glad we caught up this (British) evening...

I remember years ago spending a whole day painting pantomime scenery with a group of friends and the only thing we listened to all day long and well into the evening was a tape of Python;s Greatest Hits. Still can't decide whether I prefer Decomposing Composers or Sit On MY Face as my number 2, but my outright all-time favourite is Bruce's Philosopher's Song. We sang, we choked laughing and we kept on painting. Sometimes we made tea, too.

It's the bit where it's got a chair and then a knife that gets to me! :emoji_alien:

Just found this......

From Monty Python's Fliegender Zircus #2 (the "Lost" German Episode, 1972). Complete version, in English. This sketch was made for German television, and was never broadcast for the original Monty Python's Flying Circus BBC TV series. This video adds a few changes to the original audio version from the 1972 "Monty Python's Previous Record" album. Thankfully, it includes a nice rendition of wise King Otto's wonderful "Yah dee buggetty, a-rum fing thoo" song (a truly Grammy-worthy performance!).

Monty Python (also collectively known as The Pythons) were a British surreal comedy group who created their sketch comedyshow Monty Python's Flying Circus, which first aired on the BBC in 1969.

Forty-five episodes were made over four series.

The Python phenomenon developed from the television series into something larger in scope and impact, including touring stage shows, films, numerous albums, several books, and musicals.

The Pythons' influence on comedy has been compared to the Beatles' influence on music.

Their sketch show has been referred to as "not only one of the more enduring icons of 1970s British popular culture, but also an important moment in the evolution of television comedy."

Broadcast by the BBC between 1969 and 1974, Monty Python's Flying Circus was conceived, written, and performed by its members Graham Chapman, John Cleese, Terry Gilliam, Eric Idle, Terry Jones, and Michael Palin.

Loosely structured as a sketch show, but with an innovative stream-of-consciousness approach, aided by Gilliam's animation, it pushed the boundaries of what was acceptable in style and content.

A self-contained comedy team responsible for both writing and performing their work, the Pythons had creative control which allowed them to experiment with form and content, discarding rules of television comedy.

Following their television work, they began making films, which include Holy Grail (1975), Life of Brian (1979) and The Meaning of Life (1983).

Their influence on British comedy has been apparent for years, while in North America, it has coloured the work of cultperformers from the early editions of Saturday Night Live through to more recent absurdist trends in television comedy.

"Pythonesque" has entered the English lexicon as a result.

In a 2005 poll of over 300 comics, comedy writers, producers and directors throughout the English-speaking world to find "The Comedian's Comedian", three of the six Pythons members were voted by fellow comedians and comedy insiders to be among the top 50 greatest comedians ever: Cleese at No. 2, Idle at No. 21, and Palin at No. 30.
